Through Duke Product Lab, I serve as the Product Designer on a student-led product development team building a sales enablement dashboard for Esquire, a deposition services company.I lead the dashboard’s prototyping and visual design, collaborating closely with product managers and engineers to translate client needs into an intuitive, functional product. We just completed our first sprint and presented our MVP to stakeholders. Stay tuned for our final product!

THE PROBLEM

How can Esquire’s sales representatives more effectively prioritize and act on high-revenue deposition cases?

ABOUT

Esquire Deposition Solutions is a legal support and litigation service provider offering:

  • Court reporting (in-person, hybrid & remote)

  • Deposition summaries

  • Interpreting, audio, and video services

KEY WORKFLOW ISSUES

No Case Prioritization

Reps receive 50-100 daily cases with no way to prioritize high-value opportunities

Key Information Buried

Discovery dates are often not updated or buried in PDFs that the API can’t read

Uncentralized Intelligence

Tasks live between email and Salesforce. Revenue lives in Domo (a separate system)

USER RESEARCH

Navigating cross-functional needs to create a streamlined sales workflow

We conducted over 10+ interviews across Esquire's business intelligence, sales, and demand generation teams to identify shared pain points and understand the user workflow.

To address the obstacles we identified in the user workflow, we decided to build a sales enablement dashboard that gathers crucial information from across different databases and prioritizes cases tailored to the sales agent.

DESIGN PROCESS

Translating user flow into early mockups

Based on the sales workflows, we ideated three different database designs. I translated these into low-fi mockups in Figma that we presented to major stakeholders at our weekly sync.

Based on the feedback of stakeholders, we decided that our final product would combine the functionality of dashboards 1 and 2.

THE SOLUTION

Creating a personalized Morning Brew for each sales rep

I translated the feedback and initial mockups into a high fidelity MVP dashboard using Figma.

DESIGN DECISIONS

Tracking trends across all cases

Sales reps can observe trends across law firms and track progress across an individual sales rep's cases.

High-level overview for each case

Each case is presented with key information visible to users:

  • Status: Instantly filter their workload based on progress

  • Discovery Date: Saves 10-15 min per case searching on PDFs

  • Last Action: Saves 4-5 min per case otherwise spent checking email and preventing duplicate contact

Detailed case view connected to Salesforce

Clicking into a case gives a more in-depth break down of information and allows the user to navigate to the case in salesforce.

  • Priority summary: AI-generated summary of case importance

  • Next Action: Upcoming tasks for the case organized by priority

That's it for now! Check back in 8 weeks to see the final product and demo :)
